SUCKLING 93/100
"A delicious, savory red with blackcurrant,
chocolate and cedar aromas and flavors.
It’s medium-bodied with fine, round tannins. Fresh and bright.
It opens at the end and becomes chewy and intense."
A wine that is
— structured, complex
and delicious —
ready to drink
« Tempo d’Angelus has been created as a in an alternative direction, a transposition of everything that makes up the Angelus world of excellence onto an approchable level. »
STÉPHANIE de BOÜARD-RIVOAL
The vineyard of Angelus
Exclusively produced from vines acquired by Château Angelus in 2017 located in Castillon-la-Bataille, Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, Sainte-Colombe and the Francs sector, a few kilometers from Saint-Émilion, on magnificent clay-limestone slopes with high tuff rock and marl content.
These cold, deep soils together with the vineyards’ south-facing slopes have a direct bearing on the ripening process of the grapes, which display low levels of pH and high polyphenol content.
A SPECIFIC CELLAR
AT THE “CHAI CARILLON”
VINIFICATION
Tempo d’Angelus is vinified in a cellar specifically designed for this cuvée, within the “Chai Carillon”, in which it benefits from state-of-the-art technology and all the savoir-faire of Angelus.
Technical, environmental and æsthetic considerations were given equal importance in the design of this new state-of-the-art winery, which has been equipped with the finest wine-making tools.
CERTIFICATION
The property has been awarded HV3 certification. This “High Environmental Value” award is of the highest level and certifies that good vine-growing practices are being followed at Angelus in the areas of bio-diversity, phyto-sanitary strategy and fertilisation management.
The building has received BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certification, the British equivalent of HQE (Haute Qualité Environnementale/High Environmental Quality).
The color — is clear and dark.
The nose — bursts with fresh red berry fruit aromas, tiny berries and cherries, enhanced by subtle notes of oak.
The palate — a sensation of verticality and enhanced by a fine acidity which give the wine great freshness and pure fruit character.
The finish — is lingering with subtle notes of roasted coffee beans and oak coming through.
